Join us in the cool of the San Jacinto Mountains on the grounds of the exquisite Yokoji-Zen Mountain Center near Idyllwild, CA.
for a weekend of Meditation, Yoga and Mindfulness practices. Use your natural awareness to explore the world inside you
and around you as you walk in the woods, eat delicious vegetarian meals, meditate in an authentic Zen Temple, chant, sing
and participate in creative workshops led by Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher Beth Mulligan, PA-C
and her associates from Yokoji Zen Center and Inland Yoga.
Beginners to Meditation and Yoga are welcome.
Being on retreat can be wonderful and relaxing. Our lives are so busy that it is easy to loose touch with the deeper
aspect of ourselves. The time we spend on retreat can help us reconnect with our true nature.
It also takes us out of our comfort zone and can therefore be challenging. It's a great opportunity to stretch yourself.
There will be plenty of support for you from the leaders of the retreat.
The Zen Center is located in mountainous country at an elevation of 5,500 ft. It is very beautiful, clean and comforatbale
and also somewhat rugged and rustic. There is no cell phone service. The Zen Centers' phone is available for emergencies.
There is also no internet access except for emergencies. So while we are on retreat, we have a chance to truly unplug.
The housing is shared, and in some cases the bathrooms are in a separate building. There are rooms available for couples.
The program will include periods of meditation, Yoga classes, writing exercises, hiking and free time. There will always be coffee,
tea and some snacks available between meals. You are welcome to bring your own snacks. If you have special dietary needs
let us know 2 weeks in advance and we will do our best to accomodate you.
Please feel free to call me if you would like to discuss whether or not this retreat is right for you.
A list of "suggested items to bring" and detailed travel directions will be provided upon registration
